|Project Start/End:||02/2012 - 05/2012|
Prometheus awakes was conceived by Bradley Hemming, Director of Greenwich and Docklands International Festival (GDIF) during 2010. This largescale spectacle was from the onset, envisaged as a disability led artwork on a grand scale. One of Catalonia's most famous exports, the experimental theatre company, La Fura dels Baus were invited on board as partners with their particular skills in ariel work as well as providers and drivers of the 10m tall biped which became centrepieces to the event.
Projected live onto the Queens House in Greenwich the visuals were projection mapped in place and carefully controlled to sync to the complex live action, which featured specially commissioned music and audio effects. Real flames and a large cast of disabled and non-disabled volunteers & professionals were all interacting with the huge biped provided by La Fura dels Baus in front of the Queen's House.
Prometheus Awakes then toured to one of Britain's oldest and most successful festivals in Stockton, in the North East of England. The Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF) then hosted the event, again to a sell-out audience.
Contracted by Simon Mckeown I was responsible for both managing and producing a large amount of video projection material in support of 'Prometheus Awakes'. My position on this project was 3D, Animation & VFX Lead, however, my responsibilities extended to Editor and Quality Control.
