|Project Start/End:||06/2018 - 12/2018|
Commissioned byHeart of Glass, internationally renowned multi-media artist Simon McKeown and local group BuzzHub St Helens Coalition of Disabled People worked together to create a dazzling display of jaw-dropping visuals to celebrate St Helens’ past, present and future.
200,000 lumens of light, next-gen digital mapping software, and immersive soundscapes transformed the beautiful facade of St Helens Town Hall.
As Simon Mckeown's Lead Animator & Lead Visualist my time on this project began early into the development of the project and fully utilised my 2D, 3D, VFX, animation and editing knowledge.
We Are Still Here required the creation of 30 minutes of footage accumulating to approximately 25 individual shots. Each shot unique including a variety of 2D based animations in time with music, a selection of 3D animations that altered and brought the building to life as well as a series of edited live action footage.
One particular unique task on this project was transforming work developed by BuzzHub St Helens Coalition of Disabled People into their own unique shots, stitched together using a loose narrative influenced by the inspiration behind each piece of works creation.
As Lead Animator & Lead Visualist I was responsible for creating a large amount of the work including a 3D version of the building and all its intricacies, but also responsible for managing and delegating tasks to team members based on their expertise and technical experience including maintaining quality control on any work submitted.
